The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and efficient. The location was wonderful opposite Greenwich Park.

The only slightly negative thing I had to say was that the room could do with a little upgrading, decorating and brightening up - it felt a little 'dated' and old fashioned although all perfectly serviceable.

The Hotel was very comfortable and conveniently located for the o2 where we went to the Tennis event. They were very accomodating as we wanted 3 single beds in our room. The hotel is in a stunning location and the village of Black Heath was very pretty indeed. We enjoyed our stay very much and would be very happy to visit again.

Can't think of anything we disliked.

location, breakfast, upgrade to room overlooking the heath was readily done by staff on duty when we arrived.

room initially offered was dark due to lower g/f location. Our ensuite s/wc was very cramped, water pressure low, finish to decor not very good. Used the bar in the evening - barman on duty allowed drunk abusive customer to swear/shout for at least 10/15 minutes. She then proceeded to carry on her tantrum outside the hotel. We assumed she was not resident in the hotel. The Clarendon needs to do a lot more to deserve its 3 star status.

Clean and friendly hotel. Excellent full english breakfast complimented our two-night stay.

Very limited parking facilities. Insufficient tea/coffee in the room, although no problem in getting more by asking at reception.

The hotel is in a really nice location, Blackheath is lovely, it is right on the heath and has a pretty view of the church - lots of eating places, bars and nice shops to try out. The hotel is clean and large and perfect for a short stay. The staff at check in and check out were pleasant and it was all very simple. The room was clean and comfortable. The best thing about the hotel was the location of the hotel which was totally perfect for the o2 - which is why we picked it. The bus stops are literally outside the front. Jump on the bus to the O2 (£2.30 each way without an Oyster Card and £1.35 with an Oyster) - and buses run every 10 minutes or more - I can't say enough how convenient it is and was so nice after the concert to wait and leisurely travel back to the hotel and avoid the crowds in the tube. Brilliant. Will stay here again if going to the O2

We were pleased when directed to the Heathview wing but our twin room did not have a heathview at all just a view of the roof - but it wasn't a big problem at all, we weren;t there for the view. Bathroom had no lock but that wasn't a problem with friends but probably a good idea to fit it with one.

It's location to the 02; the lovely little village just a few minutes walk away; that the breakfast area was organised. We were concerned that it would be a bit of a "free for all", but because we were seated it was actually a relaxing, enjoyable experience

The breakfast foods could be replenished more frequently and presented in a more appetizing manner. The hot food was ok, but trays were empty and there was some waiting. The toast could be better prepared (why not make and keep warm under the hot lamps?) The yoghurt and fresh fruit area looked so unappetizing: messy.

Friendly staff comfortable room good facilities. The hotel was close to the o2 which was the purpose of our trip. Highly recommend for families.

Vert nice hotel, perfect location for our visit to the O2 arena.

We had no hot water for a shower/bath the following morning of our stay. Problems with the boiler. We were offered another room to shower.

The Clarendon is a family-run hotel with a slightly old world atmosphere but everything works and the welfare of guests comes first. It is spotlessly clean, beds are very comfortable and the bathroom is fine without being luxurious. Breakfast in the dining room was very generous and there was a wide choice. The location, just outside Blackheath Village, was well served by buses to Greenwich. The hotel faces the Heath and has a private garden behind it. There are plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance and the station is a 10 minute walk away.

super location. staff v friendly and helpful

room on the small side and a bit shabby. would have preferred higher floor too - feels dark/dingy downstairs

  • Family with children

    The atmosphere. Friendly personnel.

Would be good to have Wi-Fi and a Minibar in room

  • Group of friends

The staff at the Clarendon are amongst the friendliest we have ever encountered in a hotel, without exception. The view across Blackheath was lovely, despite the fair, and its proximity to the Olympic Equestrian events perfect. The room was comfortable, if a little small, and previous complaints about the shower did not apply, which is odd given that the hotel was completely booked out. The bed was very comfortable, and both my husband and I had a good nights sleep.

We all feel it was far too expensive. We paid £350 for 1 night including breakfast for rooms which in 2 weeks time are showing up at £89 per room.

  • Family with children
    10.0

The reception staff were particularly helpfull, also the bar and restaurant staff, always willing to help. Lovely breakfast and good selection of meals, excellent location especially for Greenwich and you can park the car without paying, nice views over the front and back garden. Would definately stay again.

  • Family with children
    8.8

Stayed in a triple room which was spacious and very comfortable. Reception staff very helpful with information about transport to the o2, really easy to get to as bus stop is opposite hotel. Good nights sleep in lovely soft bed. Breakfast absolutely delicious and plenty of choice with very pleasant waiting staff. Will return next year.

  • Family with children
    4.2

    It's location on Blackheath.

Parking was horrendous due to a wedding taking place. The crown room was "jaded": one curtain was hanging off the rail by one hook. The wooden plinth that joins the carpet and the bathroom floorcovering was split and peeling. The lino was cracked and dirty in the corner and there were at least 2 tiles that were cracked on the bathroom wall. The bathroom was so small that you could touch opposite walls with your arms outstretched. No bottles of mineral water were supplied. The radiator paint was cracked and peeling. For £125 a night I would expect much better than this. The downstairs bar area was quite intimidating when we visited it at 10.00pm, there was a lot of swearing going on from one group of people and we felt we had to leave. I will not be staying there again.
